Vote For PGA Player of the Month and Support Blessings in a Backpack

The Platinum Elite has written about them before.  Blessings in a Backpack helps children maintain their studies by making sure they receive the proper nutrition and relieve some of their stress of not knowing.

Click to read about NASCAR's Mark Martin of Hendrick Motorsports and his support of Blessings in a Backpack...and how Farmers helped.

Or, how Farmers Insurance Open benefits Blessings in a Backpack.

Justin Rose, PGA
Justin Rose is in a tough competition versus Tiger Woods.  See below to vote for Justin and Blessings in a Backpack.

Vote for Justin Rose: Feed more kids through Blessings in a Backpack

Justin Rose has been nominated for the PGA Tour Player of the month for March. If he wins, he receives $50,000 for the charity of his choice.

Justin Rose is a Zurich Ambassador, but more importantly his charity is Blessings in a Backpack which Farmers also sponsors.

For the last two years Justin has joined us at our Blessing in a Backpack Events at the Farmers Insurance Open. We've packed over 500 backpacks with ready-to-eat food items and hand-delivered them to local elementary schools.

Be Counted: Please go to www.pgatour.com/pom and vote for Justin Rose before Sunday, April 8th. It's easy to vote and only takes a few seconds to do so. Justin is currently ahead but every vote counts towards feeding more kids!

For more information: On Justin Rose and Farmers involvement with Blessings in a Backpack visit http://www.blessingsinabackpack.org/justinrose.

Farmers Insurance Sponsors Ben Crane's Golf Parody Music Video for Charity

With the conclusion on the 2012 Farmers Insurance Open, let's visit a past "Golf" blog...

Re-print from Why Platinum?

Farmers Insurance has continued it's relationship with the sports world. Farmers has secured the naming rights to the future Los Angeles football stadiums, Farmers Field. There's the Farmers Open & local golf tournaments, and the Farmers Classic (tennis). Farmers insurance is now also sponsoring NASCAR drivers Mark Martin and Kasey Kahne. Of course, you can see the Farmers Airship and Hot Air Balloon over many sporting and community events.

This week it added a fun new chapter, and its all for charity.

Farmers has sponsored Ben Crane's newest music video featuring him and other young PGA golfers in a parody of sorts.  Think of some of the "boy bands" of the last 20 years.

The more views the video gets, the more will be donated to charity.  See press release below.

Farmers sponsors 'Golf Boys' music video

Farmers is expanding its relationship with PGA Tour golfer Ben Crane and has signed on as the presenting sponsor of an unusual music project headed by Crane. Crane recruited fellow Tour players and friends Rickie Fowler, Bubba Watson (winner of the 2011 Farmers Insurance Open and 2011 Zurich Classic of New Orleans) and Hunter Mahan to form a "boy band" and star in a music video that's already "gone viral" to rave reviews on the internet.

The four PGA Tour stars have created the band Golf Boys and released their world premiere music video, Oh Oh Oh presented by Farmers Insurance.Oh Oh Oh presented by Farmers Insurance premiered on the Golf Channel during their Live From the U.S. Open programming. It's also available on Ben Crane s YouTube channel, http://www.youtube.com/bencranegolf.

The PGA Tour is also featuring the video on PGATOUR.COM and promoting it through its presence on Facebook and Twitter. As part of Farmers support of Oh Oh Oh, Farmers will donate $1,000 for every 100,000 views of the Golf Boys video. The proceeds will support both Farmers and Ben Crane charitable initiatives in support of Farmers sponsorship of the Farmers Insurance Open. Crane has released a series of entertaining videos in 2010 and 2011, his most notable being a spoof on his workout routine which landed nearly 600,000 views on YouTube. Farmers Insurance and Ben Crane have a long-term relationship stemming from Crane' s victory at the 2010 Farmers Insurance Open, where it was also announced that Crane is a Farmers customer.

In less than 2 months, the Ben Crane video made with some fellow golfers, together collectively known as the Golf Boys, is approaching 2.3 Million YouTube Views.
